Reviews of Gareth Jones' 'Desire'

Gareth Jones' film Desire has recently been playing on a small thearical release in London and the provinces. Shot in 2009, the film went down well on the festival circuit, a highpoint being its nomination for Best British Feature Film at Raindance in 2009.

Here's what some of the critics are saying:

"...a nicely staged blend of artfully shot sexuality and repressed drama, distinctive through its elegant widescreen cinematography"
Mark Adams, ScreenDaily

"...pin-sharp visuals"
Andrew Pulver, The Guardian

"Cinematographer Alex Ryle makes intelligent use of encompassed space in acclaimed screenwriter Gareth Jones' directorial debut Desire."
David Parkinson, Empire Online

The Summer House - "a superb evocation of time and place"

The Summer House, directed by Daisy Gili, which I shot in 2008 stars Talulah Riley and a slightly-before-he-was-a-global-megastar Robert Pattinson.

Check out the review of the film at The Videodrome - here's an extract:

"...director Daisy Gili, writer Ian Beck and cinematographer Alex Ryle have crafted a superb evocation of time and place in a remarkable twelve minutes."
